This painting is inspired by prairie fires, common in the spring and fall, when traditionally lightning strikes started wild fires on the prairie! Fast moving, a life of their own, intense, bright, strong, and formidable just like the Osage Warrior in the front of the painting, dressed ready for battle. I read history of the Osage people often, researching what the warriors wore as they battled across the plains!
