Thunder & Lighting; an original painting by Joe Don Brave. The skies of the prairie are alive when the weather changes in the spring and the winter. Drastic temperature changes, open skies, powerful bison, vast prairies.... a great canvas for dramatic skies! Lightning is a scary and very powerful charge when you are on the prairie! I live near the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve near Pawhuska, Oklahoma and I have the opportunity to see the bison in all weather challenges! When the spring weather changes begin to happen, on the tallgrass, I head to the prairie to see the weather! And I try to paint what I see.
