Dark Cloud on the Horizon, an original painting by Joe Don Brave.
1920, in Osage County, Dark clouds were on the horizon - the Osage Reign of Terror was in full swing - evil was around every corner. The oil money was flowing and people were dying mysteriously!
In 2021, I had the opportunity to be part of the movie, "Killers of the Flower Moon" while it was being filmed in Pawhuska, the heart of the Osage Nation. While filming - I was haunted by the history of my county, my people, the Nation. And this painting was born.
20" x 20"; Acrylic on Canvas. (Prints are also available!)
