During the month of June, the Osages come together, three weekends of the month, for the traditional dances, the I-lon-skha. The dances began over 100 years ago and continue today. Guests are welcome, but the event is truly all about the Osage Community. I was born and raised in this community, this event, these people. I love the month of June and the dances are very special to me. This painting came from these internal feelings I have for the dances, the people, family, food, fun and order that make up this community!
