Bison with Ribbon work 2 From an original painting by Joe Don Brave.
A few years ago, I visited the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve, while trying to find some low water bridges to fish from, and the Bison were roaming the prairie that day! I took a bunch of photos with the idea to do a series of small paintings, to be used for coasters, and mugs and other reproductions. This is one of the series! I added the ribbon work to increase the colors! Osages are known for their ribbon work, a geometric form of art, made using taffeta ribbon and sewing it to blankets, leggings, skirts and other items.
11 OR 15 ounce ceramic coffee mugs with image by Joe Don Brave (Cherokee/Osage Artist).
Sale is for one (1 qty) quantity mug.
